Mary Joy’s lemonade raises over $9,000 for Arnold family

The Mary Joy’s Lemonade Stand was an overwhelming success, raising over $9,000 for the family of Hadilee Arnold, one of the Troup High School student’s badly injured in a May car accident.

The lemonade stand was hosted on Saturday by the Mary Joy Moosman Foundation, named for Mary Joy Moosman, a close friend of Arnold who passed away in the same accident.

“My sisters and my children, we all talked about how if [Mary Joy] was here, we know she would be doing anything she could for her friend. If she were here, she would be willing to help Hadilee in any way possible,” said Amber Robinson-Moosman, Moosman’s mother and the founder of the foundation.

The Foundation will host Mary Joy’s Lemonade Stand for many summers to come to help fund three scholarships for Troup High students in honor of Moosman. The first annual lemonade stand was held at four separate locations including Moosman’s home in West Point, Georgia, the Local Chiropractic in LaGrange, Georgia, the Springfield Historic District in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Piggly Wiggly in Ellaville, Georgia.

All proceeds from this summer’s lemonade stand specifically went to Arnold’s recovery and her family who has remained by the student’s side in Atlanta while she is being treated at the Shepherd Center. Arnold is still recovering and funds will be given directly to her father, Toby Arnold, to help with medical needs.

Robinson-Moosman wrote in a statement, “Thank you to all of you for helping us bring MARYment and spread JOY to the Arnold family. Your donations from all four locations totaled to just over $9,000. We are so very thankful for the outpouring of love and support.”

Robinson-Moosman gave a shout out to many people who made the day possible including: Alex Weathers with Bridal and Brew for donating a bar cart for the day, Becca White for baking and donating the lemon and MJ bow cookies, Danielle Evans Designs for the permanent bracelets, the Robles Family for helping promote the event on their digital sign,Yates Printing for the flyers, Melissa Cotton, the cheerleaders from Troup High School that helped set up and serve and Moosman’s friends Susannah Lynn and Hunter Meadows.

She added a thank you “to all of my incredible family that gave their time and talents to making every detail just perfect at each location, to all of Mary Joy’s cousins for helping to host, make bracelets, create posters, and for serving our guests from each community. We are so very thankful for every act of kindness.”
