The Lake View Black Hawk Men’s Club Installing Lights On Town Bay Shelter
The Lake View City Council has approved Black Hawk Men’s Club to purchase and install new LED lights at the city’s Town Bay Shelter House. The group selected this project to provide lighting at the open shelter down by the dock, where most of the town’s Water Carnival Celebration is held. City Administrator Theresa Pudenz says there are currently no lights on the shelter house, so with the men’s club purchasing and installing at least six lights, visitors can enjoy more evening and night activities safely.
Carroll City Council Approves FY25 Insurance Renewal With 32-Percent Increase To Premiums
During its meeting earlier this week, the Carroll City Council voted to renew the city’s property and liability insurance policy despite a 32-percent increase in annual premiums. The policy, which includes liability and property insurance from the Iowa Community Assurance Pool (ICAP) and worker’s compensation from the Iowa Municipal Workers Compensation Association, has remained relatively stable for the city in recent years. However, City Manager Aaron Kooiker says multiple high-claim terms, rising property values and increased construction costs are hitting the budget all at once.
