Jamestown Man Sought for Burglary Arrested After Bike Pursuit
A Jamestown man who was wanted for multiple burglary and petit larceny counts was taken into custody after he tried to flee from police officers on his bicycle Sunday morning. Jamestown Police were conducting a warrant check at about 9:00 AM when they saw 43-year-old Alberto Narvaez-Aponte on Prendergast Avenue. Officers approached Narvaez-Aponte before he fled on his bike and led them on a brief pursuit. Officers say Narvaez-Aponte wrecked his bike and was taken into custody. In addtion to two counts of 3rd-degree burglary and three counts of petit larceny, Narvaez-Aponte was charged with resisting arrest, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and bicycle City Code violations that occurred during the pursuit.
