Here's what to know about security measures for FallFest 2024
This year, FallFest will require all WVU students and guests to pass through metal detectors, which were formerly hand-held, before entering the Rec Center field. The entrance will be a two-phase process, in which students scan their WVU IDs at one of three gate locations, then proceed to a walk-through style security system, according to April Kaull, WVU’s Executive Director of Communications.

Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education
Here is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education. has received new funding from the United States Department of Health and Human Services in support of the West Virginia Health Start/Helping Appalachian Parents and Infants (HAPI) program. The initiative offers support to local health organizations in communities with high rates of infant mortality and negative maternal health outcomes. Over the next five years, HAPI will receive $1.1 million annually to support operations in existing participating communities, as well as expand operations to four new West Virginia counties.

WVU Basketball Offers Pair of High School Guards
The offers continue to fly out from WVU basketball as the coaching staff offered a pair of high school guards this week. 2025 four-star Kelvin Odih and 2027’s Jacob Canton both picked up offers from West Virginia. Odih, 6-foot-4, was offered on Wednesday while Canton, 6-foot-3, was offered Thursday.
