Sanford police arrest four teens in burglary operation
SANFORD, Florida — Sanford police arrested four teenage males during a burglary prevention operation early on July 20, 2024. Before 1:00 A.M., the Sanford Police Department's Criminal Investigations Section and Neighborhood Response Unit conducted surveillance in areas with increased vehicle burglaries. Investigators observed four males in an apartment complex who fled upon realizing they were being watched. One male was concealing his face with a full mask.

Florida 2-year-old boy dead after accidental drowning, deputies say
OSTEEN, Fla. — A two-year-old boy from Florida is dead after accidentally drowning in a canal, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said in a news release on Facebook. Deputies had been searching for the boy, who was reported missing around 6 p.m. Saturday on a 10-acre home in the Osteen area, according to the sheriff's office. Around 6:15 p.m., the boy's mother reportedly noticed one of the family's dogs was wet while another was barking near a retention canal.

Man sentenced to 15 years in prison for attacking deputies in Lake County
An Orlando man was given a guilty verdict and sentenced Tuesday in a 2020 case in which he battered deputies and resisted arrest. In the courtroom of the Honorable Judge Cary F.
