A man has been found dead in an Oakland County lake. Members of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and other first responders were on the scene Tuesday, at Baldwin Rd. and Montcalm in Pontiac.
Another victim in Detroit-area splash pad shooting released from hospital
(CBS DETROIT) - Another victim in the Rochester Hills splash pad shooting has been released from the hospital, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday.Authorities said the 30-year-old from Rochester Hills "is home resting comfortably after spending more than two weeks in the hospital," according to a news release. The sheriff's office said one more person, a 39-year-old woman, remains in the hospital for serious injuries. Michigan woman, dog die in Oakland County house fire
(CBS DETROIT) - A 37-year-old Michigan woman and her dog died in a house fire Sunday, officials said.Authorities received a call from an acquaintance of Lakeisha Arnae Moton of Pontiac, who reported that she wasn't getting a response when she tried to get in contact with Moton. Oakland County deputies and Waterford fire officials responded to Moton's home in the 600 block of Raskob just after 1 p.m.When they arrived, they found a fresh layer of soot covering the home, and they found Moton lying unresponsive in the hallway of the single-story home. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities also say the fire likely began in the home's kitchen. A dog was in a kennel inside the house at the time of the fire and also died. An autopsy revealed that smoke inhalation was the cause of death and that the manner of her death was accidental.

Law firm: Michigan's 'most dangerous' intersections are mostly in metro Detroit
Michigan Auto Law in Farmington Hills compiles an annual list of the most dangerous intersections in the state based upon findings from Michigan State Police official data. The law firm says Eleven Mile Road/I-696 at Van Dyke Avenue is the most dangerous intersection in Michigan, with 218 crashes and 52 injuries. Crashes increased 69.9% over the last five years, from 129 in 2019 to 218 in 2023.

Man arrested for allegedly exposing himself to women at Macomb County Target store
(CBS DETROIT) - A man is accused of "fully" exposing himself to shoppers at a Detroit-area Target store last week, police said. At about 9:28 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, officers were at the Target store in Shelby Township for an unrelated call when a manager notified them about a man, Dequan Walker Jr., who was making shoppers uncomfortable by possibly exposing himself. When police questioned Walker, he denied the allegations of inappropriate behavior, and store employees were unable to pull up surveillance video for officers to review. TOLEDO, Ohio — A man was found guilty of murder in the 2022 shooting death of an 18-year-old in Washington Township. Antonio Hernandez Jr., 18, was found guilty of one count of murder, one count of felonious assault and a gun specification. He was found not guilty of an additional count of murder.

Convictions for trio of murders in Macomb, Oakland counties upheld by appeals court
The three first-degree murder convictions of an Oakland County man for the drug-related slaying of a Warren family have been upheld by the state Court of Appeals. Nicholas Bahri, 41, was sentenced to life without parole in 2022 for the cold-blooded shootings of Tokoyo Moore, 32, outside Bahri’s Bloomfield Hills home and of Moore’s 6-year-old son, Tai’Raz Moore, and his fiancée, Isis Rimson, 28, on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2020, in their Warren home.
