Helping the planet, helping the community: Sustainability Resource Fair returns to Lake Oswego

The third annual Lake Oswego Sustainability Resource Fair brought together groups from all over Lake Oswego to Lakeridge Middle School on Saturday, April 20. Hosted by the Lake Oswego School District, the Lake Oswego Sustainability Network, Sustainability Advisory Board and Oswego Watershed Council, the event provided information and resources on environmentally friendly and sustainable resources from around the region.

These included the Backyard Habitat Certification program and the Lake Oswego Public Library Seed Library. In the parking lot, community members could check out the Lake Oswego city’s electric truck or donate old electronics to Green Century Recycling.

Oswego Heritage Council Executive Director Kathryn Sinor showed pictures from the Heritage House collection that featured some of the community’s historical landscapes.

Students from Lake Oswego High School sold vegetables from the first harvest of the school’s new outdoor garden and greenhouse.
