Lake Oswego’s car and boat show attracts thousands to town

Local residents and vehicle enthusiasts perused dozens of cars and boats during the Oswego Heritage Council’s annual Collector Car & Classic Boat Show Sunday, Aug. 25 at George Rogers Park and Sundeleaf Plaza.

Heritage council Executive Director Kathryn Sinor estimated that between 4,000 to 5,000 people attended the event, where attendees could examine vintage vehicles and boats from across eras. The event is also the primary fundraiser for the council, which organizes and documents local history. Sinor echoed Sheri Rathbun’s sentiment during the awards presentation that “these cars represent a museum of memories.”

“And we had the opportunity to hear about so many beautiful memories from both the vehicle owners and those in attendance,” Sinor wrote via email. “There were some who had never shown their cars before, some who spoke of the first cars they owned, some who pointed out the care and dedication poured into the restoration of their boat ... We are very grateful to everyone who attended and made the twenty-five year anniversary a resounding success.”
