A rip current warning is in effect for July Fourth beachgoers in the Lowcountry
LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WCIV) — There will be a moderate risk for rip currents all day July fourth. The South Carolina National Weather Service (SC NWS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) warns Fourth of July beach goers to use caution when celebrating at the beach. There will be high likelihood of rip currents developing at Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Hilton Head and Tybee beach.
New Dunkin’ Opening Soon In Dillon
The new Dunkin’ will soon be opening its doors in Dillon. “Dunkin’, founded in 1950, is the largest coffee and donuts brand in the United States, with more than 13,200 restaurants in nearly 40 global markets. The sign has gone up on the new DG (Dollar General) Market that is expected to open in late summer. The store, located on Highway 301 South, Dillon, plans to employ approximately 10-15 employees, depending on the individual needs of the store. Dollar General’s DG Market format offers expanded produce, refrigerated and frozen food offerings, dairy products and more, in addition to an assortment of fresh meats, alongside the general merchandise customers trust Dollar General to provide. Each Dollar General, regardless of format, sells quality, name-brand and private brand merchandise such as foods, health and beauty products, home cleaning supplies, housewares, stationery, seasonal items and basic clothing. Grand Strand, Pee Dee animal shelters to host fee-free adoption events to help overcrowding
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Shelters across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee are rushing to make space for more animals. “The city has outgrown this building is the easiest way to put it,” said Dan Skurbe, a kennel attendant at the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. “We need to serve the city and we don’t have enough space to do that right now.”
Students In Dillon District Four Will Be Able To Get Free Breakfast And Lunch Again This Year
Dillon School District Four is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024-2025 school year effective July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Section 104(a) of the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 amended section 11(a)(1) of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (42 U.S.C. 1759a(a)(1)(thelaw) to provide an alternative to household applications for free and reduced-price meals in local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with increased levels of low-income students. This alternative is referred to as the Community Eligibility Provision. All students enrolled in the school/district may participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge to them. Families will not have to fill out meal applications.
