St. Clair County judge’s order favors local jail in dispute over in-person visitation
Inmates at the St. Clair County jail may not have the constitutional right to receive in-person or face-to-face visits from loved ones under a recent order issued in local circuit court. A lawsuit was originally filed last March by family members and on behalf of children against Sheriff Mat King and the county, alleging a county jail policy that introduced video calls at the jail in place of face-to-face visits inflicted “grievous harm on children and parents"...
National Night Out returns to Port Huron
The Port Huron Police Department is participating in tomorrow’s National Night Out. The annual community engagement campaign promotes relationships between residents and first responders with neighborhood block parties featuring food and games. Several communities and churches throughout Port Huron are scheduled to participate in various celebrations. Port Huron Police, members of the Fire Department, and Tri-Hospital EMS will be on hand at the following events.
