U.P. Pasty Fest will step back into medieval times this month
CALUMET, MI - One of the Upper Peninsula’s favorite summer celebrations - Pasty Fest - is back for a two-day run this month. And it will have a medieval twist. Sure, there will still be the classic car show and pasty pull, live music and the delicious bake-off to mark the event’s 20th anniversary on Aug. 16 and 17.
Motorsports rev up for Armada Fair
A variety of motorsports will get fairgoers’ motors running at the 2024 Armada Fair, set for Aug. 12-18. Motorsports activities will be held in the main arena of the fairgrounds, located on Fair Street in Armada. The Monster Trucks event will begin at 7 p.m. on Aug. 13. This year’s Demolition Derby, run by USA Demolition Derby and Figure 8s, and will be held Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. The Bump and Run and Figure 8 events will be held at 7 p.m. on Aug. 15. Truck and Tractor Pulls will be held on Aug. 17 at noon and 6 p.m., and on Aug. 18 at noon.

IRVING, Texas - Two American Athletic Conference quarterbacks were among the 50 players chosen to the 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.
