Saugatuck Leader to Consider STR Cap Today
SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 3, 2024) – A Lakeshore community is continuing its efforts to get a handle on short term rentals. No action will be taken during Wednesday’s Saugatuck City Council workshop, but the governing panel will be going over a recommendation by the city’s planning commission to adopt a 20 percent cap on new short-term rental licenses in the R-1 Residential District, based on the number of dwelling units in that area. Those who already have a STR license can keep them, among other provisions included. Council will consider an ordinance proposal that would incorporate the provisions of the commission’s recommendations.
