Wine bar and store to open at Ada Hotel this fall
A new wine bar and retailer dubbed The Lark is slated to open this fall in the new Ada Hotel. The business will offer an array of local and internationally sourced wines, as well as cheeses from The Cheese Lady. Owner May Graceffa said the 1,355-square-foot wine bar will be a cozy space for customers to gather for charcuterie and a glass of wine.

GRCC officers respond to reports of deceased person found near campus, hit and run, property damage and trespassing
On July 16, Grand Rapids Community College Police responded to a medical emergency around 9 a.m. just off GRCC property and across from Fountain Street Church. Upon arrival, police determined that the 62-year-old man was deceased. The officer suspected that no foul play was involved and the case is now being handled by the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Country artist postpones sold-out concert at Meijer Gardens
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A sold-out concert that was scheduled for tonight at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park was postponed last-minute. Country singer Charley Crockett canceled his show that was scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, at the Meijer Gardens Amphitheater. He announced the cancelation on his social media pages about an hour before the show started.

Rite Aid is closing nearly all of its stores in Michigan, including most in and around Washtenaw County. Rite Aid has closed over 500 stores nationwide since it declared bankruptcy last fall and, according to court documents, plans to close two Ann Arbor locations, as well as those in Ypsilanti, Belleville, and South Lyon.
