Knights Of Columbus Donate Funds To Cardinal Services
Andrew Sutton, of the Knights of Columbus, visited Cardinal Services recently to present proceeds from the Knights’ annual Tootsie Roll Drive. The drive was held May 3-4. Volunteers spread out around Warsaw at storefronts and street corners in their bright yellow vests, waving Tootsie Rolls and collecting donations. This year, the effort raised over $18,000 for services supporting people with disabilities in Kosciusko County. The Knights voted to award Cardinal Services $14,205. Special Olympics and Magical Meadows also received donations from the annual fundraiser. Woman Escapes House Fire In Silver Lake, But Dog Does Not
SILVER LAKE - Thanks to her own sense of smell, and a passing truck driver, a Silver Lake woman escaped a house fire early Friday morning. Fletchers Lake Church Marks 1-Year Anniversary Of Leaving Methodist Denomination
KEWANNA — It’s been one year since Fletchers Lake Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist denomination. Church congregants say it’s been a positive change. July 3, 2023, was the official date of the congregation at 9810 CR 475W, Kewanna, exiting the UMC. Members voted earlier in 2023 for the move, said Pastor Dave Sommers.
Houston man wanted out of Indiana arrested in Stanton County
PILGER - A Houston man wanted out of Indiana was arrested following a traffic stop in Stanton County Friday afternoon. The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 15 for speeding about eight miles south of Pilger and made contact with 32-year-old Delvin Eberado Velasquez-Romero.
