    McDonald County motorcyclist dies after hitting a deer on the road

    MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Lanagan, Missouri, has died after his motorcycle hit a deer on a highway in McDonald County overnight Monday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

    The crash report states that 49-year-old William D. Lincoln was driving south in a 2009 Harley-Davidson Super Glide motorcycle on MO-59 three miles north of Lanagan when the crash occurred.

    At 3:05 a.m., Lincoln’s motorcycle struck a deer on the road, making the vehicle travel off the road to the left. The vehicle then hit a guardrail, ejecting Lincoln down an embankment.

    Lincoln was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McDonald County Coroner at 4:00 a.m. The next of kin have been notified of his passing.

    This is the 52nd fatal crash in MSHP Troop D in 2024.
