    9 displaced after Lancaster house fire

    LANCASTER, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Nine people and two cats are without a home following a house fire that broke out on Thursday.

    According to Garrard County EMA, Lancaster City Fire and Rescue was dispatched around 2:25 p.m. to Daily Court.

    When fire crews arrived, Garrard County EMA said that crews could see flames and smoke coming from the home.

    Authorities requested assistance from area first responders, and a total of 10 units were on the scene to fight the fire. Two cats were rescued from inside, fire crews said, and after 10 minutes, the fire was controlled.

    Due to the damage, nine people have been displaced and are receiving assistance through the American Red Cross.
