LANCASTER − It's safe to safe Randall Thropp has a pretty cool job. The 1974 Lancaster High School graduate is the manager for the costume and props archives for Paramount Pictures in Hollywood. He has been with the company for 21 years and lived in Lancaster from 1956 to 1976. In 2019 LHS honored him with its Distinguished Alumni Award.

The theme of this year’s Fourth of July Boat Parade is Patriotic Birthday Celebration. Boaters will be decking their boats out with vibrant birthday and patriotic décor for the parade on Thursday. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Lieb’s Island and travel to Waterfront to be judged. The Grand Marshals for this year’s parade are the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. New canopy walk proves very popular

Two cat spay/neuter clinics scheduled in July
LOGAN – The Pet Orphanage is sponsoring two cat spay/neuter clinics for July. The registration will be on Saturday, July 6, from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hocking County Fairgrounds near the Soil and Water and OSU Extension offices. The line forms early and is first come, first served. Limit of two cats per registration unless extra spaces are available. Cost: $80 for females and $50 for males (price includes required rabies vaccination). The clinics are scheduled on Sunday, July 14 and Sunday, July 21.
