EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (WJFW) - For Preston Brooks baseball is more than a game, it is a lifestyle. Ever since Preston was a kid he has been in love with baseball. However, before Preston was born, he was diagnosed with Spina Bifida, a condition meaning his spinal cord didn’t form properly thus keeping him from ever being able to play the sport he would grow to love. Despite the health complications, Preston continued his journey to be a part of a ball club and his hard work paid off when he became the manager of his beloved Northland Pines Eagles.

New Bee Lawn for pollinators in Three Lakes
THREE LAKES, Wis. - A new pollinator habitat was created with a partnership between the Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department and the Healing Nature Center. The pollinator-friendly habitat, called a Bee Lawn, is located at the Healing Nature Center at 7125 Military Road in Three Lakes. There are other pollinator habitat beds nearby.
St. Germain has found the Chief
“Where is the Chief?” was the query on the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce’s social media. The statue of Chief St. Germain that stands at the chamber site at the intersection of highways 155 and 70 in St. Germain was removed to be repaired and repainted. A committee was formed to fundraise to pay the costs of repairing the statue. The goal is $25,000 to revamp the statue and the base.
