Firefighters battle another blaze at same Chester County home
An investigation is underway after a Chester County home went up in flames for the second time in recent months.Chopper 6 was overhead Tuesday as crews worked to contain the flames along Leopard and Sugartown roads in Easttown Township.The call came in at 10:45 a.m. as flames could be seen shooting from the roof.Fire crews recognized the residence due to a blaze earlier this year."Everybody immediately recognized the address. Police trying to ID two suspects in theft at Elkton grocery mart
ELKTON — Two men allegedly stole an unspecified item or items at an Elkton grocery market and now investigators are asking the public to help them identify the suspects, according to the Elkton Police Department. EPD officials have posted photos of the two suspects on the agency’s Facebook page, after gleaning those images from a security camera at the purportedly victimized store — Grocery Mart on East Pulaski Highway (Route 40). The two men allegedly committed the theft at approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday (July 18), police reported. Police officials are asking anyone who knows or is familiar with either or both men to please call the lead investigator, Ofc. J. Litter of puppies found dead at Chester County golf course
CALN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Police in Chester County have launched an animal cruelty investigation after multiple puppies were found dead at a local golf course.The Caln Township Police Department said in a social media post on July 22 that a litter of seven puppies was found dead around the ninth hole of the Ingleside Golf Course in Caln Township, near the US Route 30 bypass."Early indications are that the deceased puppies were placed there by a person, or persons, within 12-18 hours of being discovered," police said.Investigators said all of the puppies appeared to be from the same litter...
Sabrie Pierce Murder: Tyjohn Walker-Jones Charged
Tyjohn Walker-Jones, 16, is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder and related offenses, said authorities in a release last Wednesday, July 17. He's accused of shooting 17-year-old Pierce at the Wallingford Estates Apartments, 2701 Madison Street, according to investigators. Abdullah Muslim, 17, is also charged in connection with the deadly shooting.

Wilmington Man Arrested After Traffic Stop in Dewey Beach
A traffic stop by Dewey Beach Police Friday night led to the arrest of a Wilmington man on a variety of charges. Police detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and the driver handed police a New York driver’s license belonging to another person. The driver was later identified as 36 year old Ramone Shy of Wilmington. Shy attempted to run off on foot, but was arrested after a brief foot race. A search of the vehicle turned up black gloves, a flashlight, wire cutters, glass window punch and a flat-head screwdriver – which are commonly used for burglary. Shy is charged with the following offenses:
Wilmington Manor Crash with Entrapment on South DuPont
On June 28, 2024, the New Castle County Paramedics responded with the Wilmington Manor Fire Company and surrounding mutual aid companies to the area of South DuPont Highway and Quigley Boulevard, for the report of an MVA with entrapment and multiple patients. Arriving units found a collision involving a tractor trailer, SUV and compact car. The New Castle County Paramedics treated and transported three patients from the collision to a local trauma center on board ambulances from the Good Will Fire Company of New Castle, Minquadale Fire Company and the Wilmington Manor Fire Company.
Woman Falls Between Train and Platform
On June 2, 2024, Wilmington Fire Department units, along with New Castle County EMS and St. Francis Hospital EMS, were dispatched to the Wilmington Amtrak Station on East Front Street for an elderly female who fell between a passenger train car and the station platform. Upon arrival, fire personnel were met by Amtrak Police who reported the incident. WFD members located the patient under the car and proceeded to set up extrication equipment to carefully remove her. The female was conscious and alert, and was removed by rescue personnel in approximately 15 minutes. After removal, the patient was turned over to EMS for transport to Christiana Trauma Center. The scene was turned over to Amtrak Police who investigated the incident. Approximately 20 fire and EMS personnel responded to the fire. The following units responded: Engine 1, Squad 4, Ladder 2, Ladder 1, Battalion Chief 2, Battalion Chief 1, St. Francis EMS, New Castle County EMS.
