    Officer struck by car during a drug bust

    On Friday morning, June 28, 2024, Agents of the Chambers County Drug Task Force/Alabama Drug Enforcement Drug Task Force (Region D) and the Chambers County Swat Team executed a search warrant at 3434 38 th Avenue SW in Lanett, Alabama, the residence of Jaquezmon McCray.

    Agents Seized Marijuana, Scales and a Money Counter. Other items were also seized.

    While at this residence, Jaquezmon McCray struck the Chambers County Swat Team Bus on two different occasions with his vehicle. Jaquezmon McCray also struck a Chambers County Drug Task Force Vehicle and a Chambers County Deputy Patrol Vehicle.

    While striking all the vehicles, Jaquezmon McCray struck one Drug Task Force Officer with his vehicle and drove in the direction of several other Swat Team Members.

    The following subject was arrested and charged:

    • Jaquezmon Raynard McCray, age 36, of Lanett, Alabama: Possession of Marijuana 1 st .
      • Attempted Murder
      • Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearm
      • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
      • Attempting to Elude.

    Jaquezmon McCray was transported to the Chambers County Detention Facility. This is an ongoing investigation. No other details will be released at this time.
