Driver ejected, killed in single-car crash on Bishop Ford Freeway
CHICAGO - A driver died after being ejected from their vehicle during a single-car crash Friday morning on the Bishop Ford Freeway. A white GMC SUV struck the median barrier around 5:50 a.m. and the driver was ejected from the vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-94 near 115th Street, according to Illinois State Police.
Convicted felon sentenced again on gun charges in Peoria
PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been sentenced to 55 months in prison, along with three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. 39-year-old Alan Collins was previously convicted of felony offenses in 2004 and 2005 in Cook County, along with two prior federal convictions for firearm possession in the Central Districts of Illinois in 2008 and 2014, according to the Department of Justice.

Charges dismissed against Illinois man accused of threatening apartment residents with firearm
All charges have been dismissed against an Illinois man accused of threatening two individuals with a loaded gun in Coralville. 30-year-old Nico Johnson-Williams of Calumet City reportedly arrived uninvited at a 4th Avenue apartment last October and escorted one of the victims at gunpoint to the doorway of the residence and pushed him through the threshold. Police say he then re-entered the apartment and pointed his gun at the other victim, demanding that they find his car keys. When they were retrieved and given to Johnson-Williams, he reportedly chambered a round in his firearm and told the victims to run.
