    Greater Lansing high school girls track and field Dream Team, all-area

    Here is a look at the Greater Lansing girls track and field Dream Team and all-area selections.

    ATHLETE OF YEAR

    Katie Spicer

    School: Fowler

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Spicer was one of the top sprinters and long jumpers in the area and finished as the Division 4 runner-up in the 100 and also took third in the 200 and sixth in the 400 at the state meet. She also was the runner-up in the long jump in Division 4. Her efforts helped the Eagles win the Division 4 state title.

    DREAM TEAM

    Amelia Biehl

    School: East Lansing

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Biehl finished ninth in Division 1 in the 400 and owned one of the area's top times in the event.

    Katherine Blue

    School: Grand Ledge

    Year:

    Accomplishments: Blue finished fourth in the pole vault at the Division 1 state meet.

    Cayla Bouyer

    School: Sexton

    Year: Freshman

    Accomplishments: Bouyer was fifth in the 100 and took 19th in the 200 at the Division 2 state meet.

    Joy Evans

    School: Alma

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Evans placed third in Division 2 in the 400 and 21st in the 800.

    Ariyana James

    School: East Lansing

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: James took third in the high jump at the Division 1 state meet.

    Tori Lator

    School: Mason

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Lator placed 10th in the 200 and was 11th in the 100 at the Division 2 state finals.

    Megan Mackinder

    School: Stockbridge

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Mackinder placed sixth in the discus and 20th in the shot put at the Division 3 state meet.

    Ava Mustapha

    School: Lansing Christian

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Mustapha was one of the area’s top hurdlers and finished as the Division 4 runner-up in the 300 hurdles and took third in the 100 hurdles. She was the CMAC champion in both events.

    Emily Peters

    School: Olivet

    Year:

    Accomplishments: Peters repeated as the state champion in the 300 hurdles and owned the top time in the area at the event. She also won the 300 hurdles at the MITCA team state meet and placed third in the 100 hurdles.

    Gabrielle Pruitt

    School: East Lansing

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Pruitt was one of the top area sprinters and placed 15th in Division 1 in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She was the CAAC Blue champion in both events.

    Ashley Richburg

    School: Grand Ledge

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Richburg owned the area's top mark in the long jump and finished as the Division 1 state runner-up in the long jump.

    Tessa Roe

    School: Lansing Catholic

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Roe was the fastest 1,600 runner in the area, finished as the Division 3 state runner-up in the event and also was second in the 3,200.

    Ava Schafer

    School: St. Johns

    Year: Freshman

    Accomplishments: Schafer capped her strong varsity debut season by finishing as the 3,200 champion at the Division 2 state meet. She had the fastest time in the area in the 3,200 and ranked second in the 1,600.

    Ella Schafer

    School: St. Johns

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Schafer finished fourth in the discus and 17th in the shot put at the Division 2 state finals.

    Sophia Schrauben

    School: Portland St. Patrick

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Schrauben placed fourth in the 300 hurdles and sixth in the 100 hurdles at the Division 3 state meet. She had the fastest area time in the 100 hurdles this spring.

    Jenna Spitzley

    School: Pewamo-Westphalia

    Year:

    Accomplishments: Spitzley had the second-best discus throw in the area and finished 13th in the event at the Division 3 state finals.

    Ellie Thorburn

    School: Williamston

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Thorburn placed 17th in the shot put at the Division 3 state meet.

    Lauren Walker

    School: Holt

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Walker was one of the best middle distance runners in the area and finished third in Division 1 in the 800. She had the top time in the 800 in the area.

    Whitney Werner

    School: Pewamo-Westphalia

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Werner was one of the best middle distance and distance runners in the area. She finished fourth at the Division 3 state meet in the 1,600 an fourth in the 800.

    Holt 400 relay

    Members: Deasia Norman, Malayna Thompson, Jessica Bossenbroek, Malaysia Thompson

    Accomplishments: Finished 15th at Division 1 state meet.

    East Lansing 800 relay

    Members: Janell Brown, Amelia Biehl, Lola Fore Ogunfolabi, Gabrielle Pruitt

    Accomplishments: Finished seventh in Division 1 at the state meet.

    Holt 1,600 relay

    Members: Malayna Thompson, Deasia Norman, Jessica Bossenbroek, Lauren Walker

    Accomplishments: Placed sixth at the Division 1 state meet.

    DeWitt 3,200 relay

    Members: Autumn Thompson, Ayla Holben, Mia Williams, Kayla Williams

    Accomplishments: Placed third at the Division 2 state finals.

    COACH: Neil Hufnagel, Fowler — Guided the Eagles to a Division 4 state title
