Man in critical condition after Friday night shooting in Lansing

LANSING - Police said a man was transported to the hospital with "apparent gunshot wounds" on Friday night.

The man, 24, was found just after 9 p.m. outside a residence in the 1100 block of Lathrop Street with more than one gunshot wound, Lansing Police Sgt. Benjamin Perry said. The neighborhood is south of Interstate 496 between Pennsylvania Avenue and Aurelius Road.

No one else was injured, Perry said.

The man was transported to a local hospital and is in "critical condition but is stable," he said.

"No one's been arrested and it is still under investigation at this time," Perry said. "We don't believe it was random."
