    FBI searching for 2 Texas women missing in northern Mexico

    McALLEN, TEXAS ( Border Report ) — The FBI is seeking information on a mother and daughter from South Texas who went missing in the northern Mexican border state of Nuevo León.

    Jessica Garcia Rojo, 17, and her mother, Juana Marcela Rojo, 55, were last heard from on May 15 when they crossed from Laredo, Texas, into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, around 9 p.m. Their last known location was near Monterrey, Mexico, in the state of Nuevo León, FBI officials said.

    They were driving a white Dodge Caravan with New Mexico license plates 609 XBC when they went missing.

    Jessica has brown hair and brown eyes and is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 158 pounds. Juana is 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs 210 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Jessica has ties in the region and is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. Juana speaks primarily Spanish, the FBI says.

    Investigators believe they are still in Mexico. Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI San Antonio office at: (210) 225-6741 or submit tips online to the FBI at tips.fbi.gov/home .

    “Although the whereabouts of the women are unknown at this time, investigators believe they are still in Mexico. The public is urged to call,” FBI officials said.
