Facts About David Carradine
He was one of those guys who was kung fu fighting. Most adults who have watched TV or movies are aware of who David Carradine was. Carradine has literally hundreds of acting credits from stage, TV, and films. In addition, he comes from one of Hollywood’s most famous acting families.
Facts About Gene Barry
He had a couple of big time TV series. I remember Gene Barry from a couple of TV series, Burke’s Law and Bat Masterson. Neither was a favorite of mine. His Amos Burke character was a rich cop, and Bat Masterson was a little bit of a dandy, but if I took another look at the show, I might be a little less harsh.
Facts About "The Rifleman"
It was a western with a different angle. When I first started writing pieces like this, I remember reading that a writer will eventually find their audience. Well, I’ve written dozens of articles about actors, historical figures and miscellaneous personalities. And I’ve discovered that the biggest names don’t always get the biggest readership.
Facts About Willie Nelson
Here’s like the Energizer Bunny. Willie Nelson is a guy who draws fans from all walks of life. He’s huge in country music, as well as being an actor of note. As for me, while, as I’ve stated, I’m not a huge fan of country music, I do like Willie, both as a singer and an actor. The fact he has been in so many westerns accounts for a lot of my fondness of him.
Before Answering a Question, Make Sure it's not Rhetorical
Otherwise, it can get you in trouble. Some questions are asked, but aren’t meant to be answered, at least accurately. Over the years, I’ve had bosses ask me questions that clearly weren’t meant to be answered. Or were designed to get me fired if I did answer.
When Using Social Media, Remember the Words of Sgt. Phil Esterhaus
The Sarge said, “Let’s be careful out there.”. You might remember that it was Phil who was the sergeant in Hill Street Blues who told the cops of Hill Street “Let’s be careful out there.” Of course, those cops faced death every day. Most of us are just trying to avoid being scammed or being the victim of identity theft on the internet.
Facts About Paul Hogan
We haven't seen much of Crocodile Dundee for a while. Paul Hogan burst upon the American scene in the 1980s with his movie, Crocodile Dundee. Hogan had made a name for himself in comedy in Australia during the 1970s, but his fame quickly escalated after the 1986 release of his signature work. While Paul had some other projects, including a couple of sequels to Crocodile Dundee he definitely peaked with the original Dundee movie.
Satire: Are These Well Known "Facts" Actually Myths?
Let me present some alternative Facts. We are bombarded with conflicting so-called facts. This happens now more than at any time in my lifetime. But it seems like we’ve been fed misinformation throughout our lives, starting when we were just starting school. Here are some things we may have assumed were basic truths, but probably are not so much. Let's consider some of these so-called facts.
Facts About the Movie, "Silverado"
It’s a seriously good old school western. In my work, I tend to put emphasis on westerns and old western stars. Old westerns and stars in particular. Generally speaking, I find most modern westerns to graphic and generally crude. While 1985’s Silverado isn’t a movie of recent vintage, it still has a modern feel about it, but with an old-time sensibility about it. I’m not sure why it hasn’t gained more attention.
Facts About Lloyd Bridges
He was more than just Beau and Jeff's father. When I think of Lloyd Bridges, which isn’t all that often, a few things come to mind. Of course, he’s the father of Beau and Jeff Bridges so there’s that. But he was also Gary Cooper’s deputy in High Noon, the star of the TV series, Sea Hunt, played a memorable role in Airport and did some great work on Seinfeld.
Facts About Vivian Vance
She was more than Lucille Ball's sidekick. I Love Lucy was one of the greatest comedies of all time. And, based on that, Lucille Ball would have to be considered one of the greatest comedians of all time. I’ve already talked about the three other leading actors in I Love Lucy. Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz and William Frawley were three of the four big wheels moving the show. But there was one more driving force in the show, Vivian Vance.
Satire: Another Day, Another Breach of My Personal Information
It's becoming a regular thing. I have no idea of the scope of the number of individuals or organizations who have my personal information. Some of them have a legitimate claim to, and others, not so much. I picked up my mail recently and had a number of notices for different family members from a company that has our medical information. It seems they had a security breach, and our information may have been compromised.
Signs You May Be a Pessimist
Don’t interrupt my roll with some good news. Has life kicked you in the groin repeatedly? Do you constantly feel that the glass is half empty? And that what’s in it is polluted? When your spouse tells you you’re the only one for them, do you lose respect for them because they are settling? Are you surprised each day just to wake up?
Facts About the Movie, "Shane"
It's easily one of the best westerns of all time. Actually, I think it’s one of the best movies of all-time regardless of the category. It’s definitely Alan Ladd’s signature role. It seems ideal for Ladd’s seemingly world-weary persona. The rest of the cast is also outstanding. And it’s not just the main, characters. Jack Palance, Ben Johnson, and Edgar Buchanon also add to this masterpiece.
Where Will High Profile NFL Coaches Wind Up?
The cast of unemployed, proven NFL coaches is staggering. Things move pretty quickly in the NFL, but this season and offseason things seem to be moving more quickly than most. For example, there are more big-name NFL head coaches looking for jobs than I can remember. Let’s take a look at some of the big names floating around.
Satire: The Upside of Dying Broke
There are actually some advantages to dying penniless. It’s nice if, when we die, we are able to leave something to our family. But don’t be devastated if you find yourself old and don’t have a fortune to leave your family. Actually, the cartoon above has a flip side to it. If you die broke the emotional effect of your demise isn’t clouded by the ecstasy of loved ones receiving a boatload of money. There’s no emotional conflict.
Old Pro Wrestlers Don't Just Fade Away
Sometimes their fate is far worse than that. I’m not a fan of pro wrestling. I have had some casual exposure to the venue at various times in my life. When I was around eight years old, I’d watch it with my grandpa. The main bad guy in the region we were at was Fritz Von Erich. He of the mightily feared Iron Claw.
