Adele gave quite the scolding to a fan at her concert this weekend after they jeered anti-Pride rhetoric, and we are living for it!

This past Saturday marked the first day of Pride Month and Adele ’s 43rd weekend within her Vegas residency. Amidst singing her greatest hits, Adele has become a huge fan of chatting with her audience, and used the Saturday performance to wish the crowd a happy Pride. However, one audience member wasn’t so happy and reportedly heckled the singer. In a now-viral fan video , Adele had some keen, and hilarious, words for the commentator.
“What was that? Did you just say Pride sucks?” she said back to the crowd in confusion. With no hesitation, Adele gave the hater a piece of her Londoner attitude. “Did you come to my f****** show and just say that Pride sucks? Are you f***ing stupid?”
“Don’t be so f****ing ridiculous,” Adele scoffed. “If you have nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?” The crowd, half laughing at her response, cheered the singer on and made it clear that the heckler was in a stark minority.
Adele has been a long-time supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, so an outburst like this is ill-advised. Despite being one of the world’s best-selling musicians, the singer performed in the 2011 London Pride festival completely free of charge. In fact, this time last year at her same residency, Adele wore a rainbow train on one of her iconic black dresses to kick off Pride month. Saying she’d be celebrating all month long, Adele joked, “Enjoy this color 'cause I’m never wearing color again.”
By clapping back to the heckler with a touch of humor, Adele played off the situation perfectly and easily moved attention away from the comment. Her Vegas “Weekends with Adele” residency has been full of outspoken moments like this, including her hilarious "I f***ing dare you" response to bad crowd etiquette and a clap back to an overzealous security guard. Each outburst shows off her blunt and quick-witted personality, making fans only love her more. “'Shut up, alright?’ I love you for that” one fan wrote in her Instagram comments, with another adding, “SHUT UP, IT'S PRIDE MONTH BABES!” We couldn’t have said it better!
