Mom arrested after toddler found dead in dumpster

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A woman is under arrest after her two year-old child was found dead in a dumpster on the valley’s east side.

Police were first alerted to the case of little Jacoby Robinson Jr. on Thursday night, responding to a neighborhood near 15 ^th and Charleston around 8:30pm. Just before 1am on Friday, police found Jacoby’s body in a dumpster in the 1300 block of Lewis Avenue.

23-year-old Diaja Smith was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder, along with other felony charges.

Metro is expected to release more information within the next 72 hours.
