Jemele Hill Names the Best Player in Women's Basketball By 'A Long Mile'

More eyes are on women's basketball than ever right now, in large part because of this year's WNBA rookie class.

While the young stars are getting most of the attention, the league's veteran superstars are also making their presence felt.

A'ja Wilson dropped 27 points and nine rebounds in the Las Vegas Aces' win over the Seattle Storm on Wednesday night — including 16 points in the fourth quarter alone.

Sports media personality Jemele Hill took to X with a bold declaration about Wilson after this performance.

"A’ja Wilson scored 16 in the 4th quarter. Again, best women’s player in the world by a long mile. Finished with 27 and 9," Hill wrote.

Wilson leads the WNBA in both points (27.9) and rebounds (11.3) per game. The two-time league MVP is also second in blocks with 2.5 per game.

If Wilson continues to produce at this level, she's well on her way to her third WNBA MVP trophy, and possibly a championship three-peat for her Aces squad.
