Ever since Aaron Rodgers joined the New York Jets , we have heard speculation that wide receiver Davante Adams could reunite with him.

Up until this point, it has really been nothing more than fan conjecture.

After all, Adams is under contract with the Las Vegas Raiders through 2026, so the Raiders don’t have to be in any rush to trade him.

However, Adams did express frustration in Las Vegas multiple times last season, which has led some to believe that the superstar pass-catcher could ultimately ask for a trade.

The 31-year-old certainly seems to be running out of patience, which doesn’t come as much of a surprise given his age and the fact that he has yet to play in a Super Bowl.

While the Raiders may be headed in a more positive direction organizationally, they are still light years away from genuinely contending, and that has to weigh on Adams’ mind.

The Jets, on the other hand, have loaded up their roster for a championship run in 2024 and could be an intriguing destination for Adams if he decides he wants out.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox has forged a three-team trade idea that would land Adams in New York, with the Cleveland Browns representing the third club.

In the deal, the Jets would receive Adams. The Raiders would get New York’s 2025 first-round draft pick and wide out Amari Cooper. The Browns would land the Jets’ 2025 third-rounder and offensive tackle Tyron Smith.

It seems hard to imagine why Cleveland would do this, although the Browns are currently embroiled with a contract standoff with Cooper.

This would even be a dangerous deal for the Jets, as they signed Smith to bolster their offensive line and provide Rodgers with blindside protection. It stands to reason that Smith—when healthy, of course—is actually be more valuable to Gang Green than Adams would be.

Meanwhile, the Raiders would be reuniting with Cooper, who they took in the first round of the NFL Draft back in 2015.

A deal like this would almost certainly never happen, but it’s fun to think about.

I will say, though, that if the Raiders get off to a rough start in 2024 and the Jets are looking good, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a Davante Adams trade to New York.
