Kate Martin Makes Intriguing Aces-Iowa Comparison Before Caitlin Clark, Fever Clash

Kate Martin and the Las Vegas Aces are set to host Catlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Tuesday at 9:30 ET in Sin City. Martin recently spoke about the atmosphere in the WNBA, compared to Iowa, given the change in stadium venues.

"Carver, it is just so open... I loved it there, but it had some downfalls, because it didn't feel like the fans were on top of you. It got really loud in there, but these tier arenas are so much more fun. It really feels like there's not a bad seat in the house," said Martin via Vegas Sports Today on X.

The Aces will likely draw a massive number of fans, having already switched their game to T-Mobile Arena, due to the demand for tickets for the match against Clark and the Fever. Their capacity rose 33% from over 12,000 fans at Michelob ULTRA Arena to over 18,000 at the new venue.

Martin believes the arenas in the WNBA are fit for a better environment since there's "not a base seat in the house". The house will certainly be packed on Tuesday as Las Vegas welcomes the Fever for the second time this season.

The Aces won the last matchup against the Fever, defeating Indiana 99-80. Clark and the Fever are a completely different team from the last time they played the Aces. Their meeting in late May featured a 1-6 record for the Fever, but they've picked up some momentum and now stand at 8-12 on the year.

Martin's comparison of the venues comes from questions surrounding her time with Clark in Iowa. Both Hawkeyes alumni have a close public relationship, and they'll be able to go head-to-head for another professional bout on Tuesday.

Las Vegas' next matchup will be on Thursday, July 4th, against the Washington Mystics. The Aces recently defeated the Mystics 88-77 on June 29th, so they should head into that contest as the favorites.
