Jets Trade For WR Davante Adams In This Blockbuster Proposal

Momentum continues to build around the prospect of the New York Jets trading for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams.

First, Adams said on the Up & Adams Show that he and Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers have talked about playing together again.

Then, Rodgers publicly stated that he was looking forward to reuniting with Adams.

On top of that, New York running back Breece Hall did not discount the possibility of Adams joining the Jets, saying that he frequently speaks with the superstar pass-catcher.

So, could the Jets ultimately swing a deal for Adams?

Right now, barring a drastic change, the chances seem pretty slim. But that did not stop Nick Faria of Pro Football Network of concocting a few different trade proposals that would send Adams to the Big Apple.

Let’s roll with arguably the most realistic proposal Faria created.

The Jets could trade a first-round pick and a third-rounder for Davante Adams

Perhaps the most likely trade scenario Faria forged was the Jets sending their 2025 first-round draft pick and a third-rounder to the Raiders in exchange for Adams.

This would provide Las Vegas with some pretty serious draft capital, allowing the Raiders to facilitate a soft rebuild. Meanwhile, New York would land one of the game’s best receivers to put alongside of Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams in its aerial attack.

Rodgers and Adams played eight seasons together with the Green Bay Packers before the Packers eventually dealt Adams to Las Vegas in March 2022.

The two comprised one of the most lethal duos in the NFL, and while neither player may be in their respective prime any longer, they would still be a very dangerous pairing.

But would the Raiders really consider moving Adams?

The 31-year-old is under contract with Las Vegas through 2026, so the Raiders don’t have to be in any rush to trade him. However, if the team gets off to a rough start and Adams becomes disgruntled (he already showed signs of it last year), Las Vegas could decide to jettison the wide out at the trade deadline.

Should the Raiders decide to place Adams on the trade block at any point in 2024, the Jets would almost certainly be one of the first teams on the phone.
