NFL analyst suggests Jets-Raiders trade package involving Davante Adams

Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL over the last five seasons. The former second-round pick has tallied six Pro Bowl selections, three first-team All-Pro selections, and five 1,000-yard seasons over his ten-year career.

Since joining the Raiders in 2022, Adams has been hindered by subpar quarterback play but has still posted two 100-catch, 1,100-plus yard seasons and led the league in receiving touchdowns during his All-Pro campaign in 2022.

Though he has performed at a Hall of Fame level, Las Vegas has failed to qualify for the playoffs in Adams' tenure with the team, and trade rumors and speculation have risen as a result.

Last week, Adams made an appearance on the Up & Adams Show and stated that his former teammate Aaron Rodgers is in his ear about a reunion with the New York Jets . However, also in the interview, the former Fresno State standout declared that he's a Raider and plans to stay in Las Vegas.

While Adams clarified that he will be with the Raiders in 2024, Rodgers continued to add fuel to the rumors, stating that he "can't wait to play with him (Adams) again" during a celebrity golf tournament last Thursday.

The four-time NFL Most Valuable Pplayer isn't the only Jet hoping to see Adams in New York, as Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson have expressed their excitement about potentially teaming up with the six-time Pro Bowler.

If the Jets and the Raiders were to discuss a trade centered around the superstar wide receiver, what would the trade look like?

Sports Illustrated's Evan Massey believes a 2025 first- and fifth-round pick would be enough to reunite Adams with Aaron Rodgers in New York. Here is what Massey had to say about the package of picks he put together.

Obviously, that would be a lot of value to give up for a 31-year-old wide receiver. Despite that fact, trading for Adams would be the biggest win-now move that New York could make.

During the 2023 NFL season with Las Vegas, Adams proved that he's still one of the best wideouts in the league. Even though he was dealing with a rough quarterback situation, he caught 103 passes for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns.

Adams seems to have interest in a potential reunion with Rodgers. After all, he had the best years of his career playing with the future Hall of Fame signal caller.

Forming a one-two punch at wide receiver with Adams and Garrett Wilson would be lethal. Very few opposing defenses would have any chance of stopping both superstars.

A first-round pick and more should be the starting price in an Adams trade for the Raiders. Though he has reached his peak and is 31 years old, the veteran receiver has shown no signs of slowing down and is still one of the best in football.

New York and other interested teams will have to pay a steep price for Adams, and Las Vegas has playoff aspirations, meaning the future Hall of Famer will likely wear Silver and Black during the 2024 season.
