Former NFL Star Offers Wild Take On Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams have not been teammates since the 2021 season. Ahead of the 2022 campaign, the Las Vegas Raiders acquired the star wide receiver to bolster their passing attack.

To say things have not gone according to plan for Davante Adams would be putting it mildly. Part of the reason he wanted a change of scenery was the uncertainty that surrounding the quarterback position with the Green Bay Packers .

While Davante Adams was traded first, Aaron Rodgers’ future had been up in the air for a few years. Since selecting Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Rodgers’ stay in Green Bay was on borrowed time.

During the 2023 offseason, his move finally came. The New York Jets acquired the future Hall of Famer hoping to get their franchise back on track.

Things went even worse for him than in Sin City for Davante Adams. On the fourth offensive play from scrimmage, Aaron Rodgers suffered what turned out to be a season-ending Achilles injury.

With their Packers departures not panning out, there have been rumors swirling that the two could reunite again. The Jets have been mentioned as a landing spot for Davante Adams, but one former player doesn’t believe that will happen.

During an appearance on The Carton Show on FS1 , Plaxico Burress provided his opinion on the Aaron Rodgers/DaVante Adams situation. He offered a wild take, suggesting if the two team up again it will be in Las Vegas, not New York.

“Davante is not leaving Vegas. If Rodgers & the Jets don’t get it done this year, it’s Super Bowl or bust, there’s more of a chance they team up in Las Vegas,” Burress said.

That is certainly a hot take, but one that does make some sense. The Raiders have some questions at the quarterback position even after signing Gardner Minshew this offseason.

He will be competing with Aidan O’Connell for the starting spot. A fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Purdue, he took over when Antonio Pierce benched Jimmy Garoppolo following Josh McDaniels being fired.

If the Raiders find themselves in a position to go all-in in 2025, Aaron Rodgers could be an interesting option. Teaming up with Davante Adams seems like something both parties would be interested in, as they were one of the most dynamic duos in the NFL during their time together in Green Bay.
