    The 2024 NBA Summer League has tipped off in Las Vegas, showcasing this year's crop of talented rookies at UNLV's Thomas and Mack Center and Cox Pavilion. Young prospects hit the hardwood over the weekend, eager to impress scouts and secure spots on this season's NBA rosters.

    Here's a look at the first-year players who made the strongest early impression:

    Alex Sarr: Washington Wizards' Rising Star

    Sarr had a standout debut, posting 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks against the Atlanta Hawks. The 7-foot-1 center displayed agility and defensive prowess, despite occasional rookie mistakes, drawing attention for his potential.

    Zaccharie Risacher: Atlanta Hawks' Top Pick Shines

    Risacher, the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, showcased his offensive versatility. Overcoming early nerves, he contributed significantly with three three-pointers, stepping up in the absence of injured teammate Kobe Bufkin.

    Donovan Clingan vs. Stephon Castle: Former UConn Teammates Clash

    Former UConn teammates Clingan and Castle faced off for the first time, highlighting the Portland Trail Blazers' matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. Castle scored 22 points and Clingan's defensive presence (13 rebounds and five blocks) underscored their potential as impact rookies.

    Reed Sheppard: Houston Rockets' Emerging Leader

    Honorable mention

    Bub Carrington | PG | Washington Wizards

    Despite being one of the youngest players at Summer League, turning 19 on July 21, Carrington nearly secured a triple-double with 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, impressing with his offensive skills and basketball IQ.

    Terrence Shannon Jr. | SG/SF | Minnesota Timberwolves

    Shannon started strong with 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting, showcasing efficiency and athleticism that promise significant contributions to the Timberwolves.

    Cody Williams | SG/SF | Utah Jazz

    Williams demonstrated confidence in Utah's win over the Mavericks, hitting three three-pointers and driving effectively. Consistency will be key to his development.

    Ryan Dunn | SF | Phoenix Suns

    Dunn's defensive impact was evident with three steals and two blocks against the Warriors, showcasing his ability to disrupt opponents.

    Dalton Knecht | SG/SF | Los Angeles Lakers
