NFL analyst thinks Raiders trading Davante Adams to Jets is a 'done deal'

It seems like each and every day we have someone new speculating on the Las Vegas Raiders possibly trading Davante Adams to the New York Jets to reunite him with Aaron Rodgers.

Former NFL quarterback and ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky has now weighed-in as well, saying he believes that it's a foregone conclusion that Adams will end up in New York this season.

“I think Davante Adams plays for the Jets this season,” Orlovsky said on Tuesday . “The reason why I say that is this: Have you watched Netflix, the ‘Receiver’ stuff, have you seen the frustration from Davante Adams? It’s not that much better of a situation (now.) The only reason it wouldn’t happen is if he would feel bad about leaving Antonio Pierce, their new head coach.”

Of course, this is Orlovsky speculating on the situation rather than having any kind of inside information. He's just the latest in a long list of people who have done so.

Orlovsky's comments come on the same day that Adams' agents shot down the idea, saying that any talk about the Raiders receiver being traded to the Jets is "baseless, unfounded speculation."

“This is baseless, unfounded speculation and Davante is expected to be with the Raiders as there has been absolutely no trade talk — period.”

The truth is, there is zero chance the Raiders shoot themselves in the foot right by trading Adams before the start of the season when they have a chance to compete for a playoff spot in 2024.

The only way Adams gets dealt in 2024 is if the Raiders are an absolute disaster by the trade deadline. Las Vegas has a good enough roster to avoid that scenario.
