A'ja Wilson's strong defensive performance wasn't enough to lead the Las Vegas Aces to victory against the Chicago Sky on Tuesday, but it did help her make a bit of franchise history.

Wilson recorded three steals in the 93-85 loss, moving her into second place in franchise history for all-time steals.

Her performance earned some praise from the Aces, with the franchise sharing congratulations on social media. In a post on X , the Aces noted Wilson's accomplishment and added an applause emoji.

Wilson passed Marie Ferdinand-Harris, reaching 248 total steals. It could still be a while longer before Wilson nears the all-time franchise mark of 477 career steals set by Sophia Young-Malcolm.

Despite Wilson moving up the franchise list, the game itself was a disappointment for the Aces. After coming in as 13.5-point favorites, they struggled against the Sky, falling into a 13-point deficit late in the third quarter before rallying to tie the game. The Sky held on late, cruising to a win.

Wilson will likely move to the No. 2 spot on the Aces all-time list this season, as she sits just one steal behind Jia Perkins, but she will have a long wait before the next chance to do it. The Aces have a month-long break for the Summer Olympics before returning to action on August 17 against the New York Liberty.
