A massive IT outage impacting Microsoft systems is impacting flights, banks and other major institutions across the world, including here in Las Vegas.
As we work to assess the impact of the global IT outage here locally, we've reached out to a number of government organizations, hospitals and local casino operators. Here's what we've learned:
Harry Reid International Airport
Channel 13's Shakeria Hawkins heard about the issues firsthand from travelers at Harry Reid International Airport on Friday morning.

As of about 10 a.m. Friday, the airport advised travelers to continue expecting traffic delays and longer waits.
"Due to a global technology outage, some airlines are experiencing delays and cancellations," an airport spokesperson stated in a social media post. "Check with your airline for the status of your flight and use online services to change or adjust travel plans."
Assessing the broader impact at Harry Reid International, we checked the flight monitoring service FlightAware. As of 10:30 a.m. Friday, 225 delays and 81 cancellations were reported at the Las Vegas airport. (Those numbers have been steadily increasing throughout the morning. We've checked about once every hour.)
Good Morning Las Vegas anchor Justin Hinton was one of the people impacted. He was supposed to be on a flight out of Harry Reid International Airport scheduled to take off shortly before 12 a.m.
He tells us he was able to check in but was not able to board the plane. In the terminal, he found other passengers who encountered similar issues, including Carolina Baker of Virginia.
"Well, what are you going to do, you know?" Baker said. "So yeah, I would like to be home, but we'll get there sooner or later. It's the way of the world now."
Baker said she was able to get on the plane for about 45 minutes before all passengers were asked to de-board. In the meantime, airlines passed out snacks to fliers who were still waiting. As for Justin Hinton, he was able to catch a different flight early this morning.
ABC News also posted this video from a passenger who witnessed long lines at Harry Reid International earlier this morning.
RTC alert
If you're taking the bus, you may have seen issues with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada's app.
The agency sent out an alert at 9:16 a.m. reporting bus information displayed in the RTC app "may not be accurate." As of 10 a.m., an RTC spokesperson told us the issue had been resolved.
Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa
The impact of the global IT outage appeared to extend to the casino floor at Red Rock resort in Summerlin.

Tech issues at Red Rock casino amid global IT outage
As of this report, a Station Casinos spokesperson had not responded to our request for comment on any impacts across the company's properties here in Las Vegas.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board says it is closely monitoring the impacts of the outage in Nevada.
"NGCB agents are offering assistance to any Nevada gaming licensees impacted by the outage," the agency stated in a post on X.
Dignity Health/St. Rose Hospital
Dignity Health facilities are experiencing some impacts as a result of the outage, a spokesperson told us.
"Like many other organizations and industries, some Dignity Health facilities have been affected by the global IT outage affecting computer systems caused by a third party software update," the spokesperson wrote.
"All our hospitals remain open and our staff continues to provide safe, high-quality care to our patients. We thank everyone for their patience as our teams take immediate action to restore any impacted systems."
Silver State Schools Credit Union
The credit union reports its branches and call center are closed until it is able to resolve issues related to the global IT outage.
"You can still access your Silver State Schools Credit Union accounts via your nearest SSSCU ATM, home banking and mobile banking," the credit union stated in a Facebook post. "We apologize for the inconvenience."
Nye County Sheriff's Office
The Nye County Sheriff's Office says its operations have been impacted by IT issues, "but it is minimal that will effect operations," the agency stated in a Facebook post early Friday morning.
"911 and non-emergency phone lines are working. Some computer systems are down but Nye County IT has been working on the problem all night."
More local impacts
Clark County: A county spokesperson reports county operations have been unaffected by the outage.
City of Henderson : A spokesperson tells us, "I haven't heard anything yet. If I receive details, I'll let you know."
University Medical Center : "I checked with our IT team and confirmed that this has not impacted clinical operations at UMC," a hospital spokesperson wrote in an email.
Wynn Las Vegas: "The resort did not experience any outage because we do not use the software that caused it," a spokesperson told us in an email.
A Channel 13 employee who went to drop his car off for service at a local dealership this morning tells us he experienced issues there. That employee says a service member mentioned a "hacking" as the reason for the delay.
The outage has been linked to cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, Scripps News reported. The company's CEO has said the outage was due to a technical issue, not a security incident.
