The Las Vegas Raiders are already making critical errors against the Kansas City Chiefs and the 2024 NFL season hasn't even begun.

A viral video from the Raiders' training camp practice on Thursday, which featured a rookie defender mocking Patrick Mahomes , has been the subject of a lot of discussion. Is this something that could play into motivating a player like Mahomes against Las Vegas this season? Fans might disagree, but Raiders HC Antonio Pierce sure seems to think so.

A to Z Sports' Justin Churchill shared coach Pierce's comments on Friday, which consisted of having a team meeting about the video and "nipping it in the bud."

It's safe to say that the team meeting wasn't exactly well-received by the Las Vegas locker room. Raiders CB Jack Jones even called out the fan that handed rookie S Trey Taylor the Kermit puppet . The fact that the Raiders even had to hold a team meeting to address the viral video shows you just how feared Mahomes is across the league. It's already hard enough beating him when he doesn't have a personal vendetta. The problem is, the cat's already out of the bag and you can't just put it back in.

Antonio Pierce and his players don't get to decide when this is over with. The only one who actually gets to decide when it's over with is Patrick Mahomes, who responded to the viral video while speaking to reporters after practice on Friday.

“It’s still early in the year," Mahomes said, with a much different tone from the rest of his press conference. "Stuff like that happens. It’ll get handled when it gets handled.”

Mahomes also indicated that he doesn't ever need anyone sending him videos like that for extra motivation. He sees and hears everything and he makes note of it, but as Andy Reid indicated to CBS Sports, they don't spend a lot of time on puppets at Chiefs training camp.

The Chiefs travel to Las Vegas to play the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on October 27, that's when you can expect it to get handled and be "over with."
