City officials notified residents around 8:30 a.m. July 2 about a water main break at the intersection of Galena Avenue and Brewster Avenue. In Streator, the police department reports just shy of 8,000 calls of service in the first 6 months. A number standing out to the department is 188 domestic incidents reported so far in 2024.
