City Community Development Grants to Assist Murfreesboro Housing Authority Mercury Court Redevelopment
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The City of Murfreesboro Community Development Department has awarded the Murfreesboro Housing Authority (MHA) with $1.1 million in federal grant funding for the Mercury Court Redevelopment Phase I Plan. The U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HOME Investment Partnership Grant Program funds are administered by the City’s Community Development Department.
Early Intervention Key for Dyslexic Students in Rutherford County
RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Dyslexia is a common learning disorder affecting many students in both Rutherford County Schools and the Murfreesboro City School System. According to the Center for Dyslexia at MTSU, at least 100,000 students in grades K-12 statewide have dyslexia. Nationally, the National Institutes of Health estimate that 15% of the population may be dyslexic.

The CDC reported over 107 thousand drug overdose deaths in 2023 alone. Drug Take Back Day would allow the public to dispose of these medications with no questions asked at one of the blue MedSafe boxes in the following areas.
