CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A local man’s act of kindness is causing a stir in Ross County, where his well-meaning gestures have landed him in hot water with the law. The Ross County Sheriff’s Office says that on July 19, a maintenance worker for the city reported an individual had been cutting roses off the bushes outside the Ross County Law Enforcement Complex and handing them to women passing by.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Problems continue to plague the Ross County Jail as overdoses persist, with no remedy in sight from the sheriff’s office administration. On July 22, 2024, a canine unit was deployed inside the jail following the overdose of yet another inmate. According to a report provided by the sheriff’s office, deputies, along with K9 Filko, conducted what law enforcement officials termed a “Jail Sniff.”
