NORTHEAST KANSAS ( KSNT ) – This summer edition of K-Nation had no shortage of big names.

The show begins with a breakdown of each K-Nation MLB Draft selection. Eleven total athletes heard their names called, starting with K-State shortstop Kaelen Culpepper going No. 21 overall.

K-Nation also made it to the first round of TBT, ‘The Basketball Tournament.’ The show hears from K-State all-time leading scorer Jacob Pullen after his team, ‘Purple Reign,’ lost in the opener. The show also hears from 2016-17 National Player of the Year Frank Mason III after his team, ‘Mass Street,’ won its opening matchup.

Mark Mangino brought KU football its best-ever season, recording 12 wins and an Orange Bowl victory in the 2007-08 run. Mangino joins the program to discuss his recent induction into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.

Cliff Rovelto stepped away as the leader of K-State track and field after three decades at the helm. K-Nation tells viewers what they need to know about the replacement: Travis Geopfert.

Former K-State duel-sport (women’s basketball and volleyball) athlete Peyton Williams was back in her hometown of Topeka to help coach some youth athletes. K-Nation catches up with the pro basketball player, and she discusses what’s going right with the current women’s basketball team.

At Big 12 Media Days in Las Vegas, K-Nation’s Glenn Kinley caught up with a couple of Jayhawks and Wildcats.

Senior running back Devin Neal talks one-on-one with Kinley about the changing culture in Lawrence. Senior defensive end Jereme Robinson tells Kinley what KU fans should expect out of him.

Senior defensive back Marques Sigle joins one-on-one with Kinley as a potential breakout candidate for K-State football. Senior offensive lineman tells Kinley why Wildcat fans don’t need to worry despite all-American Cooper Beebe’s departure for the NFL.

The show also gives updates on former football players in the UFL Draft and scheduling updates on K-State women’s basketball and Kansas volleyball.

Programming Note: K-Nation will be off-air for the next three weeks (July 28, August 4 and August 11) due to NBC’s Olympics coverage during the usual K-Nation timeslot. K-Nation will return to broadcast August 18 to start its third year on-air.

These stories aired in Sunday’s episode of K-Nation, which can be watched above.

K-Nation airs every Sunday night on KSNT after 27 News at 10. It’s a 30-minute weekly sports special revolving around K-State and KU sports. Click here for more K-Nation content.
