PORTAGE, MI -- A project to reconstruct Shaver Road from Captiva Island to Vanderbilt Avenue will resume Monday, July 8. Authorities say Kalamazoo house fire considered suspicious
KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says an early morning house fire Thursday is considered suspicious. Just before 2:00 a.m. KDPS was dispatched to the report of a fire in the 700 block of West Lovell Street. First arriving officers found that the fire had self-vented out of one of the first floor windows and additional reports that someone might be trapped on the fourth floor.

Holiday Municipal Fireworks Displays Continue Tonight
UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, July 4, 2024) – Looking for fireworks shows to celebrate the Independence Day holiday?. While perhaps the largest show in West Michigan isn’t until Saturday evening in Grand Rapids over Ah-Nab-Awen Park, the explosives went off on Wednesday night over Allegan, Green Lake near Wayland, and South Haven. The actual July 4 municipal holiday presentations are over Lake Macatawa in Holland, as well as Allendale, Grand Haven, Grandville, and Hopkins.
