RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES, NEED IS URGENT
Blood donations tend to drop over the busy summer months. Sue Thesenga with the American Red Cross is asking you to roll up a sleeve this month and give the gift of life. She says there is an urgent need for Type-O blood donations right now. The bloodmobile is taking donations today (Wednesday) from 10-4 at Springfield High School. Thursday donations will be taken at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville from 1 – 7 and at First Presbyterian Church in St. James Thursday from noon to 6 and Friday from 8 to noon. SE School Board votes to close the swimming pool
The Sibley East School Board, during its regular monthly meeting in Arlington on Monday night, July 15, voted 5-1 and approved a motion to close the swimming pool by the end of August. In addition to the motion, the swimming pool will close immediately if there is a major repair.

Help harvest at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Harvest season is unfolding and visitors to the Arboretum can get involved in the process on Saturdays through Aug. 31. The Arboretum’s farm will have a different theme each weekend including digging up potatoes to harvesting soybeans, corn and grain. The ‘Fun at the Arb’ will be Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to the farm is included with general admission to the Arboretum and free for members.
