Park Elementary celebrates last first day of school

It’s the first time for the last time. On Monday, Le Sueur-Henderson elementary school children stepped off the line of yellow school busses and ran towards Park Elementary School in what will be the final first day of school for the 94-year-old building.

As of the start of the new school year, preschool through sixth grade students are 56 days away from becoming the first classes to enjoy the facilities at the all-new Le Sueur-Henderson Elementary School.

The new two-story, 90,000 square foot building is designed with a 21st century sensibility in mind, complete with flexible learning spaces, classroom pods for learning with small groups and sleek, white aesthetic.

Following the students tansition to the new elementary school, Park Elementary will be sold to Brennan Construction for $600,000.
