Le Sueur’s Koreyann Straub received royal honors on Sunday as she was crowned the first Miss Le Sueur-Henderson at Henderson’s annual Sauerkraut Days festival.

Following a coronation ceremony under the Bender Park shelter, Koreyann, the daughter of Chad and Stacy Straub, became the first young woman to be honored with the title of Miss Le Sueur-Henderson since the pageant’s debut this year. Alongside Le Sueur-Henderson royal princesses Alison Miller and Kaylee Berger, Straub will represent both the Giant Days festival of Le Sueur and Sauerkraut Days festival of Henderson.

“Growing up I watched all the girls get crowned and I thought it was so cool we had real life princesses and queens and I thought it would be amazing to get more involved in my community, both the Henderson and Le Sueur communities, especially to be a role model to all those younger girls,” said Straub on why she ran for Miss Le Sueur-Henderson.

Straub, Miller and Berger were selected for royal honors from a slate of six candidates including Leah Gaul, Ella Miller and Kyline Soloman.

Straub is currently senior class president at Le Sueur-Henderson High School, student council vice president, National Honor Society vice president, FFA president, captain of the tennis team and track and field, T.A.R.G.E.T. leadership group blood drive leader, and a student representative on the School Board.

Miller is also involved in the T.A.R.G.E.T. leadership group, student council, and All in Conference group, and she enjoys playing volleyball and going to local sporting events in her spare time.

Berger has stayed involved in the community lifeguarding at the Le Sueur Aqua Valley Pool, waitressing at Luke’s, participating in track and field and swim and dive, attending the Word of Life church youth group, plus volunteering at Park Elementary and at other community events through the National Honor Society.
