CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Bloomer man accused of sexually touching a juvenile boy has been arrested and appeared in Chippewa County Court on Monday.

Scott R. Detlaff, 43, 14047 110th St., faces possible charges of repeated child sexual assault and second-degree sexual assault of someone under age 16. He appeared in court for a bond hearing, where Judge Benjamin Lane set a $20,000 cash bond. Lane set a return date for Aug. 20.

According to information presented in court Monday, Detlaff is accused of sexually touching the boy both in a home and in a camper, as well as showing him explicit sexual materials.

“They are very serious criminal felonies,” Assistant District Attorney Sara Matthews told Lane.

Defense attorney Ryan Kohler, who appeared with Detlaff in court via video from the jail, requested a signature bond, noting that Detlaff is from the area, has no history of missing court dates, and has a full-time job.

If Detlaff posts bond, he cannot have any contact with the victim or any juveniles.

Detlaff already was charged in Eau Claire County Court with sexual exploitation of a child, use of a computer to facilitate a sex crime, and causing a child under the age of 13 to view or listen to sexual activity. Detlaff will appear in that court on those charges today.

Detlaff previously posted a $25,000 cash bond inthe Eau Claire County case, but Lane made his cash bond separate from what was posted in Eau Claire County.
