Mountain town at 10,158 feet a 'trending' spot for 4th of July weekend

Airbnb recently released a report related to the upcoming Fourth of July Weekend, revealing both what Airbnb is the 'most wishlisted' in each state , as well as what Airbnb destinations around the nation are trending.

Among the 'top 10' trending US destinations for the upcoming holiday weekend was Leadville, Colorado, the highest incorporated city in the country at 10,158 feet of elevation.

This is likely a relief to locals as there was initial fear that the recent Interlaken Fire in the nearby Twin Lakes area might impact access during the popular weekend for outdoor recreation. That said, this blaze has since been contained and this part of the state is ' open for business ' with limited restrictions in place.

Leadville and Twin Lakes are known as popular 4th of July spots thanks to the high elevation in the area helping visitors escape summer heat. Additionally, there's ample outdoor recreation accessible by those of all levels of experience. Don't forget to take the scenic drive up the nearby Independence Pass.
