    OBITUARY: Gail Morris

    Gail Morris passed away on July 7, 2024 at age 79.

    Freda Gail Hatcher Morris was born in Lebanon TN to Lois Gertrude Bennett and John Hatcher.

    Gail was a phenomenal basketball player in high school. She was a proud member of the Class of ’63, Lebanon High School. She married Charles Morris and they built a good life together, raising five children too. Gail would tackle anything.

    She started Wilson County Humane Association, now New Leash on Life, and served as President. She enjoyed listening to music and taking care of her flowers in the garden. Her grandchildren lit up her world. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist.

    Gail is survived by her husband of soon to be 47 years, Charles Morris; children: Dawn (Steve) Daniel, Chris (Madrae) Morris, Shawn (Julie) Dunkin, and Scott (Angie) Morris; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grands on the way.

    She is preceded in death by son Joey Morris, parents Lois and John, sister Ann Pipkin, and brother Billy Hatcher.

    The Memorial Service, conducted by Pastor Moses Han, is 12 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Gladeville Methodist Church (8770 Stewarts Ferry Pike). The family will be receiving friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service at 12 p.m. Honorary Pallbearers: grandchildren.

    In lieu of flowers, please make Memorial Donations to Mighty Miracles Kitten Rescue and/or Mt. Juliet Animal Care and Control.
