A fatal crash near Lee’s Summit left one 15-year-old dead and five other Holden, Missouri, teens injured Tuesday.

Officers responded at about 9 p.m. at U.S. Route 50 and Milton Thompson Road, according to a crash report.

    According to the report:

A 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt and a 2022 Honda HR-V traveling southbound both failed to stop at the stop signs before striking the highway median and going airborne.

The Chevrolet turned over, ejecting the 15-year-old before coming to a stop. The Honda struck the victim.

The teen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The five other teens, ranging in age from 17 to 19, were transported to hospitals with minor to moderate injuries.

The 19-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol arrest report.
